PERSPECTIVE

Whether the complexity of the job is simple or dynamic, it’s the perspective the individual attacks the problems (job) that makes the difference.

I assigned an individual to organize dog bins. The individual did the job, no problem, but they did it in an
unintelligent manner. Not their fault, my fault.

Not because I did not give them enough instructions but because they were not the best person for the
job.

The individual doesn’t have a dog and doesn’t know the frequency of use for the things in the bin.
Therefore, they organized for vanity and not utility. So, while it looked great, from a functionality stand
point it was not effective.

Whether the complexity of the job is simple or dynamic, it’s the perspective the individual attacks the
problems (job) that makes the difference. In some scenarios, an individual who has an unbiased perspective is valuable and others it’s not. in some scenarios, experience is valuable and in others is
limiting.

When it comes to hiring and talent universal truths are rare and limited. In most scenarios, it simply
depends on the context of the situation, the people, and the work opportunity.
